NİKFER CLOTH
According to the information obtained from the literature, Nikfer Cloth has a history of 700 years in the region. With its deep-rooted past, it is one of our weavings still present in the region. Nikfer Cloth is woven in Denizli-Tavas-Nikfer.
It is woven in plain weave and its width varies between 40-70 cm. Warp and weft materials in Nikfer Cloth weaving are natural white cotton. The warp of Nikfer Cloth is slightly twisted and double-folded. Today, only the scarf of Nikfer Cloth is hand-spinned. They have no patterns. In the past, it was used to produce belts, trousers, jackets, olive sacks, linings, and caftans whose warps and wefts were hand-spun.
