ÜZÜMLÜ DASTAR WEAVING
Dastars woven in Üzümlü, which is now known as Yeşilüzümlü, date back to the times when Turkish tribes settled in the region. Thanks to many different projects implemented, it is still among the ongoing weavings in the region, although not as widespread as before. It is woven in Muğla-Fethiye-Üzümlü and is a local weave.
It is woven in plain weave with wool warp and weft of the same thickness, with a width of approximately 60-70 cm. There were also silky ones in the past. Today it is woven with cotton thread. Wool is used for its warps and wefts while cotton is used for its pattern threads. The plain woven weave is patterned with white pattern threads. The colors used are white; white natural wool color and white natural cotton color are used in weaving and pattern threads. It has geometric, symbol, plant, or figure patterns. Snake, leech, rug, stick, Circassian, ulama, squash blossom, daisy, and monstera deliciosa motifs are used in its patterns. In the region, it is used in the production of headscarves, underwear, covers, curtains, bedspreads, and clothes.
