İBECIK CLOTH / İBECIK ALACA / İBECIK DASTAR

İbecik Cloth is traditionally woven in Burdur province, Gölhisar district, İbecik town and is also known as İbecik Alaca / Ibecik Dastar. İbecik was connected to the Menteşe Province Yüksekkum (Köycegiz) in the first years of its establishment. Transportation is provided through the town of Üzümlü in Fethiye district of Muğla province. During the periods when barter was valid in trade, ibecik Dastar was also introduced to Üzümlü. It is known to have a history of 150 years. İbecik Cloth, whose ground is woven with cotton warp and weft and plain weaving technique, is patterned with white or colored pattern wefts during weaving. Silk is rarely used as a material. İbecik Cloth has geometric motifs and patterns. İbecik Cloth, which was used as men’s headwear (dastar), napkin, table cloth, handkerchief (table napkin), and belt is mostly used in home textiles and shawls today.
